Tributes have been paid to footballer Barney Daniels who has died this week aged 74.
Daniels in a long career played for Manchester United and Manchester City and Stockport
Signed by Tony Book for Manchester City he would make his blues debut in a 1-0 home win over Derby County curtesy of a Colin Bell strike on 6th February 1974, going on to appear 16 times between 1973 & 1975 including hitting two goals in a 4-1 win over Leicester City during November 1974. Barney would leave Maine Road in the summer of 1975 to become Chester City’s then record singing and duly hit a spectacular 25 yarder strike on his debut.
