Lanes 2 and 3 are now open on the M61 southbound between J5 and J4 near #Bolton following the earlier police led incident.
Lane One remains closed for this incident whilst contractors work at the scene.
The Northbound traffic has been released and all lanes are now running.
Police say that a man has been found with serious injuries at the scene
Local transport is being badly affected in the area
