Known for its Polynesian-inspired interiors and party vibes, Tiki Hideaways new cocktail menu promises unique global flavours, while honouring the timeless Tiki classics.

New classic menu additions include the El Diablo using El Jimador Blanco Tequila alongside ginger and blackcurrant, Tradewinds combining Havana Club 3 Year Rum and Appleton Estate Signature Rum with apricot, lemon, and coconut and historic South Pacific drink Doctor Funk that sees the robust flavours of Goslings Black Seal Rum, Wray & Nephew and Absinthe with lemon and lime. With prices starting from £11, there are ten drinks to choose from with something for everyone.

And for those looking for something different there are the ‘Island Inspirations’ featuring the Blackstrap Daiquiri, with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, molasses, ginger cordial and lime juice, the Pineapple Booty with Dead Man’s Fingers Pineapple Rum, vanilla liqueur and a dash of pineapple syrup and pineapple juice, and the Monkey See, Monkey Do brings a sweet touch with Dead Man’s Fingers Banana Rum, caramelised banana and lime juice. The Island Inspirations drinks are available for £10.50 each or two for £15.

Mixologist Calum Anderson, who has been part of the Escapism Bars team for the past five years, explained how Tiki Hideaway blends old and new for a refreshing update. He said, “Tiki cocktails and culture have been around since the 1930s, and so there is almost 100 years’ worth of drinks to explore and take inspiration from.

“When we talk about classic cocktails, we are usually referring to drinks from the golden age of Tiki, which came about in post-war USA, when many tropical Polynesian-themed restaurants and bars opened across the continent. Some of these drinks have stood the test of time and have become iconic in their own right.”

He added, “The Blackstrap Daiquiri from our Island Inspiration section is a truly unique cocktail unlike anything else on our menu. Usually, a Daiquiri is a very light and fresh drink. This version turns that completely on its head by using black spiced rum with black molasses syrup and root ginger to create a rich, heavy, and spiced Daiquiri variation.

When asked about his favourite new cocktail, Calum said, “On this menu, I love the House Grog. It’s the perfect mix of high-quality, overproof rum, tropical flavours, and island spices. This really epitomises what Tiki culture and drinks mean to me, as well as having some fascinating history.”

Grant Dexter, Managing Director at Escapism Bars, said: “Our new menu is one of our greatest yet, and we’re excited to see what our guests think, and which will become their new favourites.

“Launching the new menu comes at a brilliant time for the Tiki Hideaway brand, as we go from strength to strength across our trio of Northwest bars and as we launch our new website and updated brand.

“We’ve stayed true to the Tiki spirit while bringing in new flavours, unique twists, and something different for our guests that we are confident will see them returning for more.”

*One free cocktail per sign up from 30th August, details on how to claim will be sent via email after sign-up.
