Two men aged 25 and 45 and a 35-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose following an incident in Atherton last Thursday.
Bomb disposal experts were called to an abandoned vehicle, a silver Audi A6 on Car Bank Street and the item found was made safe at the scene by the bomb disposal unit and is still being investigated by specialist officers.
