Three people are in custody after a car was stopped by GMP officers in Bury with a gun, drugs and a large amount of cash discovered later.
The vehicle was stopped on Bright Street following a moving traffic offence by officers from the Operation Revoke team.
The driver – a 31-year-old man – was arrested close by and he remains in custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs.
A 27-year-old female passenger in the car was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs.
Following the arrests, Revoke officers carried searches at two addresses in Rochdale where a large amount of cannabis, drug supply paraphernalia, more than £15,000 in cash, criminal property assets, a knuckleduster, and two extendable batons were discovered along with white powder suspected to be class A drugs.
At one of the addresses, a firearm and ammunition were found in a safe.
Another woman – aged 46 – was arrested for suspected drug supply and possession of a firearm.
Detective Sergeant Craig Murray said: “Operation Revoke continues to fight organised crime, drug supply and criminal exploitation in Bury.
“The operation is community-led, engaging offenders robustly and effectively while deploying strategically to disrupt their activities and those who continue to support and benefit from the harm that is being caused to our communities.”
