A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after officers pursued a stolen vehicle in Ancoats.

Patrolling officers spotted a car which they believed to be stolen and pursued it before the occupants made off on foot and hid in a shed in Old Trafford.

Two 18-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and possession of class b drugs and have both since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Following enquiries one of the men was identified as wanted and further arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody for questioning in connection with the murder investigation following the death of 16-year-old Rhamero West who died of stab wounds on 9 September after being attacked on Norton Street in Trafford

A 16-year-old-boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, and Ryan Cashin aged 19, of Nancy Street, Manchester, have already been charged with Rhamero’s murder and have both been remanded in custody to appear at a future date.
