Vegan Events UK is looking forward to this Saturday, 19th April, when it will be bringing the Northern Vegan Festival to Sugden Sports Centre, Manchester Metropolitan University. This incredible celebration featuring over 100 amazing vegan stalls is one not to be missed. If you are looking for inspiration on a vegan lifestyle or plant-based options or to discover items that you won’t find in the supermarket, the Northern Vegan Festival is the ideal place. And as entry is free for under-16s, it is great for families.
The Northern Vegan Festival will feature over 100 fantastic stalls, global vegan cuisine from talented chefs, decadent desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth, free samples to discover new favourites, expert talks from vegan advocates and specialists and much more, running throughout the day between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
Stalls will include cooked and raw foods, pies, cakes, and chocolates, sandwiches and salads, beauty and skincare products, candles and preserves, vegan cheeses, jewellery and crafts, healthy and sweet treats, clothing and accessories, drinks, juices, and smoothies, charity merchandise and so much more!
Local caterers and food and drink makers include Manchester caterers Gillie Foods, Seitan Kebab and Wholesome Junkies, Manchester’s Root2Ginger, Teatime Collective, The Intolerant Baker, The Samosa Guy, The Teapot Bakery, The Vakery and The Vegan Picnic Basket and Salford’s DevilDog sauces.
Local charities and organisations include Manchester’s Vegan Organic Network and Manchester Animal Save. North West skincare companies include Bubbleducks and Roots Vegan Skincare, plus candles and more from The Lancashire Candle Company.
Featured stalls include Miracle’s Mission which is a non-profit animal welfare charity that works with sick, injured and disabled animals worldwide. Its mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets. It also rehabilitates and re-homes dogs in need, often with disabilities, in the UK.
As well as the wide range of stalls, there will be lots of talks, poetry and cookery demonstrations during the day to keep you informed and entertained.

Vegan rhymes from Glastonbury Festival Poet-in-Residence Dominic Berry. Family friendly vegan verse as Dominic shares some deep and some light-hearted tales of being vegan in today’s haphazard world.
The Power Of Exercise To Change Your Life with Sophie Banyard who is a personal trainer and mindset coach passionate about helping people to build inner and outer strength and resilience, enabling you to conquer whatever challenges life throws your way.
Food Without Faces with Fleur Sade, a passionate advocate for compassion and justice. Fleur uses the power of spoken word to amplify the voices of those who cannot speak for themselves. Through every verse, Fleur challenges the status quo, sparking conversations that encourage a world where all beings are treated with respect and kindness.
Cookery demonstrations will run during the day with Maz Linford, a tutor from The Vegetarian Cookery School. Look out for their banner which will display a QR code that will give you access to the recipes plus a 20% discount on the day for all of their full and half day classes. Maz is a teacher, chef and streetfood trader. She has over 30 years of catering industry experience. Her Mauritian heritage has given her a passion for exciting flavours.
