Salford based connectivity provider TalkTalk has announced the return of an awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of women working in the technology sector in the North West – following a successful launch last year.

The TalkTalk North West Women in Tech awards will take place in Manchester city centre on Wednesday 2nd November. It will be hosted by Tristia Harrison, CEO of TalkTalk.
This year’s judging panel includes an admirable line-up of tech advocates, philanthropists, and journalists

The award categories are encouraging for all areas and levels of technology, including: Rising Star, Tech for Good, Innovation/Innovator, Team of the year, Mentor of the year, and Outstanding Achievement.

Members of the public can nominate professionals working within the tech industry, in all positions, across the North West of England for the awards HERE. The nomination window will close on 5 August.

Tristia Harrison, Chief Executive of TalkTalk, said: “Working in technology is not just about building code, and awards like these are an important opportunity to educate, collaborate and celebrate all women working in all areas and at all levels in the technology industry. There are great things happening across the sector, but women are still underrepresented, and we all need to do better.

“We’re delighted to be announcing that these awards are back for 2022 and look forward to once again bringing people together to celebrate the best talent in our region. And a growing community of people working towards the same goal.”

TalkTalk already hosts its own thriving women in tech professional network for internal staff and recently hosted an event at its HQ with 100 academics, advocates and leaders, and students looking at the themes and barriers to women working in tech.
