Danny Luke, Quick Move Now’s managing director, says: “Stockport is a great example of the changes we’ve seen in the property market over the last year. In May 2021, properties in Stockport typically sat on the market for 55 days, now that figure stands at just 38 days. We’ve also seen property prices continue to rise significantly. This time last year, the average asking price in Stockport was just over £280,000. Now, the average asking price is just under £308,000.
“It’s been well-documented that the property market is booming at the moment. A shortage of properties coming onto the market, combined with strong demand for homes, has meant climbing prices and stiff competition for desirable properties. With rising interest rates and a ‘cost of living’crisis underway, how long demand will remain so strong is difficult to predict. If you have a property in Stockport that you’re thinking about selling, now is a great time to do it.”
