British champion Robert Lambert makes his first appearance in Manchester since claiming the British crown on Monday, August 6 when King’s Lynn visit the National Speedway Stadium.

And the visitors are packing other equally impressive big guns in the form of Ty Proctor and 2019 GP qualifier Niels-Kristian Iversen for this high-stakes Premiership clash with the Rentruck Aces.

Belle Vue are teetering on the edge of the top four and know that nothing less than a win will be enough to keep their play off ambitions alive as the competition enters its most critical phase.

But crucially for them, they have at least one match in hand over the current top four, a fact which they must take full advantage of, says Steve Worrall, if their league title dreams are to come true.

He said: “It’s crunch time for everyone now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a league table so close before. There literally is no margin for error. Even just one blip could prove costly in the end.

“King’s Lynn are in the same boat as us. They need points just as we need points so we can anticipate an intensive meeting where everybody will be gunning for every point on offer.

“It’ll be interesting to see how Mark Riss goes on. He’s a very capable rider and certainly enthusiastic. I really hope he has a good night, but we need everyone to be on their game.

“King’s Lynn have some very strong riders and their team, on the whole, is pretty solid. But we’ve not got to where we are through favours and we’re prepared to fight tooth and claw for the win.”
