Making an exciting return to The Printworks this May, Soul on Sunday! Finger-popping, foot tapping, high energy performers Stax of Soul are back by popular demand, rounding off the bank holiday Sunday in style.

The original nine piece band born and bred in Manchester back in 1983 performed at the Manchester Soul Festival back in August 2017 and the ‘real deal’ band will be taking to the stage once more, Sunday 6th May, filling the streets and bringing the roof down at The Printworks once again from 4pm to 8pm. This free event is open to all ages so guaranteed to be an evening the whole family can enjoy.

DJ Dave Starr from KFM Radio will kick off the proceedings at 4.30PM warming up the crowd for the main event, Stax of Soul at 5.30PM for a bank holiday of fun and live soul music.

The Soul On Sunday event is set to gear up soul music fans for the Manchester Soul Festival 2018, which takes place on Sunday 26th August at The Printworks. Back for its fourth year, the event brings all the fun and nostalgia of Northern soul music and dancing whilst raising money for The Christie.

Following three successful years raising over £65,000 for The Christie, the Manchester Soul Festival is determined to raise the total to £100,000 this year by bringing more Soul and Motown bands, artists and DJs from across the region to perform across several of The Printworks venues over the August Bank Holiday.

Though the full line up is yet to be announced, attendees can purchase their wristbands for the Manchester Soul Festival now – tickets are priced at £5 and all proceeds help raise money for a charity very close to people’s hearts.

Fred Booth, Centre Director of The Printworks, said “We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to welcome back Stax on Soul for this special bank holiday event. There’s a huge community of soul music fans young and old in Manchester so we’re expecting a big turnout. With this year’s Manchester Soul Festival only a few months away, Soul on Sunday is a great taste of what’s to come this summer.”
