A car and house were shot at in Crumpsall on Boxing Day afternoon.

The incident happened at Charminister Drive around 4pm, a man, who was reportedly wearing a black hoodie, blue tracksuit bottoms and possibly a balaclava, made off on foot down Charminister Drive towards Crescent Road after he had fired shots at the house and  a black Hyundai 4×4.

Detective Inspector Muz Kernain from GMP’s North Manchester Team said: “The home was filled with a family when their house was shot at. There were children and elderly people inside.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area to get in touch.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while police conduct their enquiries and a scene will remain in place over night.

“We could easily be dealing with a Boxing Day tragedy here, and it is vital we find out who is responsible and remove them from our streets where guns are absolutely not welcome.”
