One man sustained a serious injuries in a multi vehicle crash on the M6 on the Thelwall Viaduct this morning which saw the motorway partly closed

Cheshire Police were called to reports of a multi-vehicle collision which involved two HGVs, a white Ford Zetec and a white Ford Kuga just before 8am

The road was closed in both directions to allow air ambulance to land. The southbound carriageway reopened at around 9.10am

One man sustained a serious injuries during the collision, he was taken to Aintree hospital via air ambulance where doctors have confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life threatening or live changing.

A number of other casualties were taken to hospital by paramedics, there injuries are not believed to be serious.

Following the collision, police and Highways staff worked hard to clear the scene as quickly as possible and the road fully reopened at around 12.40pm.
