Proud and Loud Arts learned that they would become one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations securing funding between 2023-2026
They are excited to be one of the 276 new organisations selected to receive ACE investment contributing to a varied portfolio which ‘will help ignite creativity across the country’ and will be laying down their bold plans between now & April 2023 for the next three years.
Proud and Loud Arts Artistic Director, Tom Hogan said “I am absolutely delighted the work of Proud and Loud Arts has been recognised by Arts Council England. We have been working hard over the past 22 years to create a space for disabled artists in the creative sector. This is a milestone development moment for us and one that we are excited to grab with new energy, commitment, and inclusive creativity”
Writing on twitter, Salford’s Mayor Paul Dennett said: “Great to see this from Salford based @proudandloudart Well done with your National Portfolio Organisation application with @ace_national @DCMS, very well deserved!”
Former ACE Disability Champion Andrew Miller said the new portfolio “represents a step-change for disabled-led practice in the arts sector” adding that there is “Much more work to do to achieve full equity, but I’m proud that the dial is shifting,”
With support from Arts Council England, Proud and Loud Arts are looking forward to building a more representative and diverse cultural sector in Salford, Greater Manchester, and beyond!
