Hyde and Stalybridge MP Jonathan Reynolds has returned to the Labour front benches as Shadow City minister in Jeremy Corbyn’s new shadow cabinet.

Reynold’s resigned as shadow minister for railways back in January this year, Jonathan Reynolds, saying  he wanted to participate in a debate about the future of the Labour party from its backbenches and criticising the decision to sack former shadow Europe minister Pat McFadden over comments regarding terrorism.

He will join the department led by Mr Corbyn’s most trusted supporter John McDonnell at the shadow treasury. He replaces Richard Burgon, who was promoted to shadow justice minister during the summer.

Other local MP’s remain in their shadow cabinet positions including including Angela Rayner as shadow Education Secretary and Debbie Abrahams as shadow Work and Pensions Secretary.
