To celebrate the launch of its Manchester restaurant, Flat Iron will be giving away 500 Wagyu steaks from 5pm on Tuesday 2nd July, the day before it officially opens.

The giveaway will run on a first-come, first-served basis, giving lucky Mancunians a free Wagyu steak along with a preview of the new restaurant.

Located in Manchester city centre, at 200 Deansgate, the two-floor restaurant is housed in a Grade II Listed building, designed by Charles Heathcote and first opened to the public in 1908 as the office of the Royal London Friendly Society.

Bringing their single-minded commitment to serving remarkable steak at an affordable price to the heart of Manchester, the restaurant’s concise menu is led by the signature ‘Flat Iron’ steak, taken from the often-overlooked featherblade, known for its flavour, tenderness and juiciness when seam butchered with skill and care, alongside much-loved sides such as beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese and crispy bone marrow garlic mash.

A rotating board of specials will be available, including the newly launched Truffled Triple Cheeseburger, Scottish Ribeye, a Wagyu steak of the day, and, exclusive to Manchester, a 375g Rib Steak.

Also exclusive to Flat Iron Manchester is a handcrafted meat ageing cabinet and bespoke charcoal grill where all specials are finished.

Flat Iron’s Head of Beef, Fred Smith, said: ‘I spend an unusual amount of time trying to source incredible beef and our Wagyu is properly special. To celebrate our new restaurant opening its doors, we will be giving away shed loads of this uber-tender beef to the good people of Manchester. Join us on 2nd July and let us know what you think.’
