Lidl GB is inviting the local community to consult on draft plans to deliver a new store at the former Buzz Bingo site off Rowlandsway, Wythenshawe.
The proposed multi million-pound investment would see the development of a new store offering Lidl’s high quality and affordable produce to residents in the Wythenshawe area, along with the creation of around 40 new jobs for the local community.
The new supermarket would have a sales area of 2,518m2, including facilities such as Lidl’s popular in-store bakery and customer toilets including baby changing facilities. The store will be supported by 87 parking spaces, including five accessible parking bays, six parent & child spaces and two electric vehicle charging spaces. The proposed store will also include appropriate cycle parking.
The public are invited to attend a public exhibition and meet the Lidl team on 5th September 2022 at the Lord Alf Morris Room in the Wythenshawe Forum, Simonsway, Wythenshawe, Manchester M22 5RX, from 3pm to 7pm. However, for those who are not able to attend on this day, residents can still register their support and provide any comments online through the following website:https://tinyurl.com/LidlRowlandsway or via telephone: 0161 8176225.
The new store forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.
