Celebrations will take place to mark the reopening of tennis courts across Manchester following their refurbishment.

Significant work has taken place on 8 sites across the city including Fog Lane Park, Cringle Park, Ladybarn Park, David Lewis, Kingswood Park, Blackley Rec, Platt Fields and Chorlton Park, under the Citywide Tennis Improvement Programme. New fencing has been installed, lighting, smart access to gates as well surface treatment and line markings. The new tennis courts have also undergone a deep clean.

Fog Lane Park will host the reopening to celebrate the new facilities and bring the sporting community together. Visitors on the day will have a chance to take part in a free fun session for all the family to try out the new tennis courts. The investment has been a part of a collaborative project with the Lawn Tennis Association, Manchester Active and wider park stakeholders.

A charging model will now be introduced across a small number of sites which will be used to create a sinking fund to help sustain all our existing tennis facilities for the foreseeable future. The majority of the sites, however, will remain free and will be accompanied by a full range of family focused tennis activities, with many being free of charge, working with our community tennis delivery partners at We Do Tennis.

The reopening of the tennis court will take place at Fog Lane Park 14th July between 11am-1pm.
