The prolific Manchester rapist Reynhard Sinaga was the target of an attack behind bars in an alleged planned hit by prison vigilantes according to reports in the Sun newspaper this morning
The Manchester student raped hundreds of men in his City Centre flat and was convicted of 159 sexual offences, believed to be the country’s most prolific predator and is serving life in prison with a minimum of 40 years
The paper reports that he narrowly avoided serious injury in the attack at HMP Wakefield in July, which is said to have been halted by prison guards.
A source told The Sun: “Sinaga is arrogant and universally loathed. He is a clear target in prison because of his depraved crimes.
“He was seconds away from extremely serious harm. He is in danger.”
The Indonesian national, a post graduate student, was found guilty of 136 counts of rape, eight counts of attempted rape, 14 counts of sexual assault, and one count of assault by penetration, against a total of 48 victims.
Police though believe that he may have assaulted many more – potentially upwards of 190, 79 of whom they have not yet been able to identify.
