A report this morning suggests that the Labour vote in the upcoming Rochdale by election could be squeezed by a combination of Respect’s George Galloway and former Labour MP Simon Danczuk, who is standing for Reform

The poll by Survation shows support falling from 86 percent at the last election, to 60 percent today.

Much of that fall they suggest could be down to Muslim voters being unhappy with Labour’s support for Israel in the war in
Gaza

19 per cent of the electorate in The constituency are Muslim and it is said that Galloway’s campaign is chiming with them, whereas Danczuk is campaigning on the issue of child grooming gangs

The full list of candidates standing are

Azhar Ali – Labour
Mark Coleman – Independent
Simon Danczuk – Reform UK
Iain Donaldson – Liberal Democrat
Paul Ellison – Conservative
George Galloway – Workers Party of Britain
Michael Howarth – Independent
William Howarth – Independent
