Police have seized ammunition, cannabis and cash after earling morning raids in Longsight.

The ammunition was discovered in the communal area of a property located on Milnthorpe Way.

Cannabis and cash were recovered following two warrants that took place on Dartford Close.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and is currently in police custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Natalie McDonald, from GMPs COM Central Challenger team, said: “The warrants executed today have led to the recovery of ammunition, cash and drugs and is our way of showing that we are actively pursuing organised criminality and will continue to do so.

“While information relating to organised crime taking place in central Manchester comes from a range of sources, we also rely on the local community to be our eyes and our ears.

“I therefore want to take this opportunity to encourage residents and people in the area to keep reporting information which is believed to be criminal or suspicious – no matter how small you think it may be – and be assured that we will do the rest.”
