Greater Manchester Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct after a woman was stabbed in Hyde on Friday
Twenty eight year old Adrian Smith of no fixed abode has been charged with attempt murder.
The stabbing took place at a property on Grosvenor Road in Hyde
Police were already inside the property due to the concern for the welfare of a woman.
After they attended and were later taking witness accounts, another woman was stabbed inside the property.
Following treatment, she is thankfully now in a stable condition but with injuries believed to be life changing.
Smith has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 1 July 2024.
