Hundreds of passengers have been evacuated from Piccadilly Station this evening after alarms sounded around 6pm during the rush hour
The station reopened about half an hour later
The cause was a fire alarm activated in the area of the station containing the toilets and Sainsbury’s store.
No fire was found Network rail have since confirmed
