Damage to the overhead wires at Stockport rail station could mean disruption for much of the day for train passengers
The incident means all lines are currently disrupted.
The following routes have been affected
Avanti West Coast services between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly
Journeys towards London will continue to be diverted due to the damage and as a result, services are unable to call at either Macclesfield or Stockport.
CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street / Bournemouth / Bristol Temple Meads / Reading / Southampton and Manchester Piccadilly
East Midlands Railway services between Nottingham / Norwich and Liverpool Lime Street
Northern services to / from Manchester Piccadilly
Services can now run from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly in this direction only while Services from Manchester Piccadillly to Crewe are still being diverted via Styal.
A rail replacement transport is in operation.
TransPennine Express services between Cleethorpes and Liverpool Lime Street
Transport for Wales services between Cardiff Central / Carmarthen / Crewe / Swansea and Manchester Piccadilly
