Our teams in the EFL have discovered this morning their fixtures for the forthcoming season.

Ian Evatt’s Bolton Wanderers side will kick-off their season with a home game against Lincoln City at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, before travelling to Gloucestershire to face Cheltenham Town the following weekend.

Wigan relegated last season and now under new ownership will kick off the 2023/24 Sky Bet League One campaign with an exciting away fixture against Derby County, following .

A week later, Latics will host Northampton Town who return to the third tier after their promotion from League Two last term. 

The big games will continue for Latics during the opening month of the season, as two consecutive away trips to newly-promoted Carlisle United and near-neighbours Bolton Wanderers precede a home fixture against Barnsley. 

It will be the first time since 2013-14 that The Ammies will start a campaign away from The Peninsula Stadium, with their first league game of the season will be against Crawley Town on Saturday 12th August.

Afterwards it’s a double header on the road away at Grimsby Town and Tranmere Rovers before August ends with a first League Two meeting against Accrington Stanley.

Stockport County meanwhile who lost the play-off final to Carlisle in a penalty shootout at Wembley, welcome Gillingham in their campaign opener.

Following a 15-year absence from the EFL, Wrexham begin their season on home soil at the Racecourse. The Welsh team, who are owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, were crowned National League champions last season, tallying a record-breaking 111 points.

After dropping out of the League in 2007/08, the Dragons are finally back and they take on Milton Keynes Dons, who were relegated to Sky Bet League Two, in the campaign’s curtain raiser.
