The weather warning issued over the weekend for the likelihood of snow over the region has this morning been lifted by the Met Office
The forecast for New Year’s Eve will see a dry start then a band of heavy rain moving in towards lunchtime and it is set to last throughout the day and night.
It will be windy with 30-40mph gusts.
Temperatures at the moment seem likely to drop on Thursday with a cold night in prospect
