Andy Burnham, has confirmed the new portfolios which each Greater Manchester Combined Authority member will lead on for the city-region.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is made up of the 10 Greater Manchester councils, and the Greater Manchester Mayor. Each member plus the Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime, Criminal Justice and Fire is given a policy brief by the Mayor which they lead on for the whole of Greater Manchester.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham said:

“I would like to pay tribute to departing Greater Manchester Combined Authority members Martyn Cox and Amanda Chadderton. They have made a great contribution to the Combined Authority in the areas they led on of Green City-Region and Equalities. I wish them well.

“We now welcome new GMCA member Councillor Nick Peel, representing Bolton as lead for Digital City-Region and we welcome back Councillor Arooj Shah representing Oldham, as lead for Equalities and Communities. They and our other GMCA members will work with me to deliver our ambitious and exciting programme, including using the new levers we secured under the Trailblazer Devolution Deal. I look forward to working together to make a positive difference to the lives of people who live, work and visit our city-region.”
