International furniture specialist, The Furniture Practice (TFP) has moved to a new Northern HQ. Located within central Manchester, TFP’s new home is an office in a beautiful heritage building at 37 King St., just a short walk from the city centre.

Jen Dunn, Associate Director and Head of TFP North said, “We have been growing quickly in the North and needed more space that would also allow for future growth. We are delighted with the office which is in a perfect location, ideally connected for clients, manufacturers and staff. The office space has been carefully designed to enable collaboration and creativity and we can’t wait to invite our clients and friends new and old into our new home.”

The space, which is open plan, was designed by TFP in collaboration with Manchester based OBI who were appointed to manage design and fit out.

Jen explained, “We needed an office capable of accommodating different work modes, including spaces for collaboration when we are in the office together.” TFP has succeeded in this by creating a flexible and adaptable space design, including a ‘samples library’ – a place where clients can come into the office and work.

Jen continued, “Aesthetically we wanted to create an environment that felt calming and reflected a sense of home and we have achieved this by mixing well known furniture brands with lesser known pieces – all of which will stand the test of time.”

TFP specified all the furniture and sourced from its amazing network of suppliers including &Tradition, Andreu World, Carl Hansen, Gubi, Flokk, Humanscale, Kvadrat, USM and Vitra. With sustainability firmly in mind, the Smile Plastics table tops and Foresso Tea Point table tops were made from recycled waste materials.

Ken Kelly, TFP Chairman said “The north is very important for TFP, which is reflected in our decision to expand into new offices that will meet our future growth ambitions and also give our incredibly hard working staff, a great place to work and have fun.”

The result is a remarkable space that exudes quiet sophistication where, staff, clients and the furniture and design industry can come together.
