Manchester based fashion brand in management buyout by original investors.

Married couple James and Julie Featherstone have become outright owners of Dead Legacy, famed for their bold creative designs on eye catching Tshirts. This new era for Dead Legacy sees James remaining as a partner whilst Julie is taking over the helm as Managing Director.

The working mum admits taking a leap of faith in the much loved fast fashion brand is a challenge she is truly relishing. “Coming from a corporate sales background I have a strong desire to grow our relationships within the retail market. We have an incredibly strong network of over five-hundred retailers and distributors who believe in Dead Legacy and work closely with us to keep us ahead of the game. I want to nurture these relationships whilst developing the brand further alongside our design team”.

Over the 6 years Dead Legacy has been creating great fashion pieces they have managed to collect quite a few famous fans like Zane Malik, Tim Howard, Michelle Keegan and they have also pulled in some famous and familiar faces to collaborate on collections. The ability to access such famous people comes through James’s sports management company who look after some of the countries top sports stars.

Mixing in these circles certainly helps Dead Legacy open some usually unobtainable doors and none more so than British actor and Oscar nominee Tom Hardy. “Tom came in to work with the team on a collection for Help for heroes. We are fortunate he is a friend of the business and offered his time to get involved. He didn’t just turn up for the pictures either, he has quite a creative brain”, added Julie. Watch this space for more collaborations from more famous faces as Julie and her team have a few surprises up their sleeves later in the year. One of them being a project involving Manchester’s up and coming fashion designers who will be given a chance to get involved with the brand on a very personal level.

For now the Spring Summer 2016 collection is about to go live and the team are busy communicating this with their UK and overseas distributors who span across Sweden, Norway, Spain Finland and the Baltic markets. Export is stronger than it’s ever been and all in all Dead Legacy is ready to head into the summer season with a fresh new team who are deadly serious about keeping this legacy at the top of its game.
