Mulligans, recently crowned the Best Pub in Manchester, is gearing up to host the city’s biggest and boldest St. Patrick’s Day celebration yet.
On Monday 17th March 2025, from 11:00am through to 1:30am, over 1,200 guests are expected to flood through the doors of Manchester’s oldest and most iconic Irish pub, ready to soak up exceptional live music, an unbeatable atmosphere and what is widely hailed as ‘the best Guinness outside of Ireland’.
This year’s event is set to be the biggest in Mulligans’ history, marking the first St. Patrick’s Day since the venue unveiled its newly expanded upstairs space. With more room to party than ever before, guests can experience live music across both floors, featuring an incredible lineup of eight live bands performing from the kick-off until close.
The expanded space, complete with timber-beamed vaulted ceilings, a mezzanine-level performance area and two brand-new bars, sets the stage for an unforgettable day and night of high-energy live indie bands. Traditional Irish folk tunes will fill the downstairs, iconic for its traditional charm with exposed brick walls, Guinness memorabilia and cozy snugs , evoking the atmosphere of a classic Irish pub straight out of Dublin.
With an estimated 4,000 pints of Guinness set to be poured through its 24 taps on St Patrick’s Day, Mulligans continues to uphold its reputation for pouring ‘the best pint of Guinness outside of Ireland’. Owner Pádraig Brady and his team take pride in every pour, carefully following time-honored techniques and trade secrets that have made Mulligans an institution for Guinness lovers since the 19th century.
Pádraig Brady, owner of Mulligans, said: “St. Patrick’s Day is always special at Mulligans, but this year will be extra special with the new space upstairs. We have gone above and beyond to provide an extensive live music schedule that will guarantee an unbeatable atmosphere all weekend. And – as always – we’ll have measures in place to make sure every single pint of Guinness served is nothing short of exceptional.”
Entry on the day will be £20 on the door and guests will gain access to the full lineup of live music, the unbeatable St. Patrick’s Day atmosphere and, of course, plenty of expertly poured pints. With a no advance ticket policy and queues anticipated, early arrival is strongly recommended for those looking to secure their spot at Manchester’s ultimate St. Patrick’s Day party.
Mulligans pours an average of 13,000 pints of The Black Stuff every week. Pádraig Brady, owner of the venue and a Guinness expert, keeps the trade secrets to his perfected pour close to his chest.
Mulligans remains one of Manchester’s busiest and most beloved bars, and continues to be an iconic part of the city’s nightlife, attracting locals and visitors alike. Known for its authentic Irish music, live sports, and renowned pints of Guinness, it is set to be a key destination for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations this year, and every year.
