The conflict in the Middle East has escalated as Iran hit the Qatari Ras Laffan liquified natural gas plant in retaliation for the strike on its own gas field by the Israelis
After the missile strike on Qatar, Brent oil reached $112 per barrel and Wholesale gas prices have soared by more than 20% while President Trump has threatened Iran that the US will destroy the entire South Pars gas field if attacks on Qatar don’t stop.
However the President says he had no advance warning of the Israeli strike that prompted the retaliation.
Airlines have been warned that they will face jet fuel shortages as soon as next month, risking flight cancellations to long-haul destinations at the end of the busy Easter holiday period
After prolonged attacks, the Saudi foreign minister warned that if Iran does not calm down, a retaliatory strike could follow.
A meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf countries took place amid a missile attack on the Saudi capital. All Iranian missiles were intercepted, but falling debris injured several people.
