Manchester United will change their usual shirts this weekend in a powerful show of support for the fight against AIDS – wearing one-off (RED) front-of-shirt sponsors in their clashes with West Ham men’s and Arsenal women’s.
The limited-edition shirts, worn by both men’s and women’s squads, will be auctioned off on MatchWornShirt after the games to raise money for (RED), the global health charity co-founded by Bono.
As part of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s front-of-shirt sponsorship with Manchester United, featuring its Snapdragon® brand, the company nominated (RED) to replace the Snapdragon logo on the front of the Manchester United shirt for women’s team fixture against Arsenal on May 10th, and men’s team fixture against West Ham on May 11th.
Tijmen Zonderwijk, co-founder, of MatchWornShirt, said:
“Football has an unparalleled ability to bring people together, and we’re proud of the fact that through this special charity auction, we’re turning passion into purpose.
Jennifer Lotito, President & COO, (RED), said:
“We believe in the power of collaboration to drive change, and this collaboration is a great example of that mission in action. These incredibly special shirts represent more than just match-worn memorabilia – they are a powerful way to engage fans and raise funds to drive more impact where it is needed the most.
