The co owner of Manchester United Sir Jim Radcliffe has caused controversy after saying that the UK has been “colonised” by immigrants, who are draining resources from the state

Speaking to Sky News he warned that the country was facing profound political, social and economic challenges.

He said that the Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer should show courage in dealing with the major issues of immigration with people opting to take benefits instead of working

”Kier Starmer is a nice man, perhaps too nice” he said but you can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in

Kier Starmer has responded to the interview saying it was “offensive and wrong”.

“Britain is a proud, tolerant and diverse country,” the prime minister added. “Jim Ratcliffe should apologise.”

Meanwhile on the subject of Manchester United He said

“I’ve seen quite a bit of this at the football club. If you do difficult things, which we felt that we had to do at Manchester United… we felt like they were the right things to do. But you do become very unpopular for a while.”

The Manchester United Supporters Group the 1958 said in a statement

“Once again a total embarrassment whether in front of a camera or being interviewed. Commenting on the issues of our country while living in Monaco to avoid paying tax is bad enough.”
