A man believed to be in his 50’s has died after a fire at a property on Nazeby Walk in Werneth earlier this afternoon
The man was treated by paramedics but despite their best efforts the man sadly died at the scene.
A joint investigation with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been launched to understand the circumstances behind the fire.
A number of road closures and police cordons have been put in place while enquiries are carried out.
