A man has been charged in connection with the murder of Matthew McKenzie in Heywood last week.
Thirty three year old Matthew’ body was discovered by a passer-by in an alleyway to the rear of Promenade Street, late on Thursday evening.
A Home Office Post Mortem confirmed that Matthew died as a result of a stab wound in his chest.
James Samuel Hurst,29 of Littlemoor Lane, Oldham, has been charged with murder and will appear at Bury Magistrates’ Court today.
A 33-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has since been bailed until 21 March 2017 pending further enquiries.
