The child was struck in the chest and the man was hit in the head after being hit with orange pellets fired from a passing car in Gatley yesterday
No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the attack which happened around 6.30pm in Gatley Road
Neighbourhood Sergeant Matt Delaney said: “Incidents of this nature cause concerns in our communities and will not be tolerated. We are committed to identifying who is responsible for this crime and holding them accountable.
“Officers are reviewing ANPR cameras and CCTV footage from the area. We suspect a Back Volkswagen Golf may be involved in this incident and officers are appealing to anyone with dashcam footage to please come forward and support our investigation.
