Damage to overhead wires outside of Piccadilly Station has caused severe disruption to services this afternoon
Trains trunning to / from this station may be cancelled or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes and majorc disruption is expected until the end of the day.

We are currently responding to an issue with overhead line equipment at Manchester Piccadilly which is causing severe disruption to train services.At present, most trains in and out of Piccadilly will be delayed or cancelled.
Our engineers are currently on site working to resolve the overhead wire damage at Manchester Piccadilly station
We are sorry to passengers for the disruption this has caused and we are working to get people moving as soon as possible
Northern are stating customers are advised not to travel between Manchester piccadilly and Crewe. No rail replacement will be in place between these stations and further services from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly will be terminating at Wilmslow.
