Oldham have sacked manager Frankie Bunn just twenty four hours after the club’s 6-0 defeat at Carlisle United

In a brief statement the club said:

“We would like to place on record our thanks to Frankie for all his efforts during his time at Boundary Park.

Pete Wild will take the first team as caretaker manager and the club will look to appoint a permanent manager as soon as possible.”

Bunn was appointed in the summer following the Latics relegation to League Two.

They currently lie 12th in the table, seven points off the playoff places.
