itsu, the Asian-inspired health[ier] restaurant brand with over 80 locations across the UK, has announced plans to open a new restaurant at the Trafford Centre – its third itsu site in the north.

Set to open in Autumn 2024 on Upper Regent Crescent (in the ex-Ted Baker unit), the popular restaurant brand will offer itsu’s trademark fresh Asian-inspired nutritious food, which is steamed (not fried) & packed with wholegrain, fibre, protein and greens. Popular dishes include freshly made sushi, rice & noodle bowls, steamed gyoza and bao buns.

The new restaurant will include digital ordering screens, allowing for speedy service, the customisation of hot dishes and instant access to nutritional and allergen information. Customers can dine in or takeaway, and the restaurant will offer its famous half-price sushi sale 30 minutes before closing every day, helping to eliminate food waste.

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “itsu promises to be a fantastic addition to our versatile food and drink offering, catering for those who are looking for a fresh and healthy yet delicious option. We’re excited to welcome itsu to the centre and are confident it’ll prove an extremely popular choice with our visitors.”

Catrin Williams, Head of Marketing at itsu, commented: “We’re thrilled to be opening our second site in Manchester. We chose the Trafford Centre as it’s an ideal location for our brand-new restaurant due to its prominent position as a world-renowned shopping centre with significant footfall and excellent transport links throughout the North. We can’t wait to open, and prepare delicious, health[ier], affordable dishes to even more Manchester residents and visitors.”
