Iceland are encouraging their stores to open just for elderly and vulnerable people this Wednesday for two hours.

The supermarket says their response is due to its prominent position in many communities and to growing concerns around panic buying.

The supermarket confirmed the news saying: “On Wednesday between 9am and 11am Iceland will be opening for the elderly and vulnerable only.

“Please respect this request as we want to make sure all our customers get the chance to get their shopping. Also as of tomorrow, we will be temporarily be trading 9-5 until further notice.”
