Oldham Town Centre’s latest bar and grill is open – and is already attracting a loyal clientele.

The Grill@No 20 is a stylish family-run eatery that caters for the discerning diner.

Anthony D’Alessandro and his wife Carolina have ambitious plans for the Retiro Street restaurant – formerly Don Pedro’s.

Anthony and his business partner have invested a significant amount of their own money as well as receiving a grant from Oldham Council to refurbish the establishment into a stylish contemporary bar and grill.

Chef and co-owner Anthony, who has been in the business for more than 18 years, is serving traditional English cuisine, specialising in prime cuts of meat, fish and a whole array of Mediterranean dishes embracing Anthony’s Italian heritage.

His signature dishes include his steaks – all sourced from local producers – sea bass and chips cooked in beef dripping. The venue also stocks a selection of wines from across the world and premium beers.

The 50-seat restaurant is already proving popular with diners who want a meal before visiting the nearby Oldham Coliseum Theatre while others have already booked to return.

Anthony said: “Our aim is to offer something for everyone, especially families, at affordable prices.

“We chose Oldham Town Centre as I know the area well and can see it is on the up. That was one of the main reasons why we decided to invest my money here.

“I like what the council are doing to regenerate the area and we can play our part by helping to attract people here.

“We’re just down the road from the new cinema in the Old Town Hall so families will be able to enjoy a meal here and then walk up the street and enjoy a film.”
