GP surgeries and care homes are demanding an exemption from Rachel Reeves’s rise in employer national insurance.

Yesterday Lib Dem leader Ed Davy told MO’s that the care sector will be ‘pushed to brink’ by national insurance hike and should be exempt.

The Liberal Democrats have called on the government to exempt the social care sector from the increase in national insurance in Labour’s budget.

Meanwhile the Government has been told that GP surgeries will have to consider making staff redundant if the rise in employer national insurance contributions announced in the Budget is not covered
