Internationally acclaimed orchestra London Concertante is set to bring an unforgettable evening of cinematic magic to Manchester Cathedral with Music from the Movies by Candlelight on Saturday, 29th March. This event will feature a selection of iconic film scores, performed live by the world-class orchestra, all set against the enchanting glow of hundreds of flickering candles.
The programme features music that will transport audiences through decades of cinematic soundtracks, as the programme seamlessly blends timeless classics from beloved films with music from recent blockbusters, from the soaring themes of Superman, Jurassic Park, and ET, to the dramatic intensity of Skyfall and Game of Thrones. The concert will also include classical masterpieces that have become synonymous with the silver screen, such as Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture and Shostakovich’s Waltz from Jazz Suite No. 2.
This evening will be brought to life by the world-class musicians of London Concertante, one of the UK’s leading chamber orchestras, and set within the awe-inspiring architecture of Manchester Cathedral.
