Five people were arrested across multiple sites in the Manchester this morning, as local neighbourhood officers continue to apply pressure on those suspected of criminality.

Honing in on the eastern area of the city, including Gorton and Longsight, officers raided six properties at dawn today

Working with the force’s specialist Programme Challenger Teams, neighbourhood officers were subsequently able to secure five arrests of men aged between 19 and 23, on suspicious of numerous offences, including possessing drugs with intent to supply and other drug-related offences.

The searches of the addresses revealed a quantity of cocaine and heroin, which will be further assessed. A flick-knife was also found during one of the searches.

The five men arrested currently remain in custody for questioning.
