Local employability provider, Ingeus, celebrated the launch of its flagship Restart Scheme centre in St. Anns Square, Manchester with an open day on 17th November 2021.

Funded by the Department of Work and Pensions, the Restart Scheme supports local jobseekers, referred to the programme by Jobcentre Plus Work Coaches, in overcoming employment barriers and securing sustainable work.

Over 100 people attended the event to find out more about helping unemployed members of the community find work, including representatives from Manchester City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Jobcentre Plus Work Coaches and other local partners.

The open day showcased the Restart Scheme as a tailored employability programme which supports individuals needs by addressing their own personal barriers to work for a maximum period of 12 months.

Restart Advisors highlighted the variety of one-to-one support they can offer participants, including exclusive vacancies with local employers, assistance in applying for jobs, training, and advice on housing, childcare, changes to benefit allowances and managing personal finances (where appropriate). There was also a demonstration of iWorks – Ingeus’ innovative careers portal, showcasing its CV screening tool, interview practice application and library of over 900 free online training courses.

Darran Nuttall, National Account Manager for the Department for Work and Pensions said: “I was delighted to be able to attend the opening of the new flagship Restart Scheme centre in Manchester. It was great to meet more of the Ingeus team and find out about the fantastic work they are doing to help local residents find lasting work, especially seeing the power of partnerships between providers, employers and local charitable organisations in making a positive difference to people’s lives.”
