A car driver is in hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash in Bolton in the early hours of Saturday morning

The crash happened around 3.00an on Halliwell Road at the junction of Draycott Street

Four vehicles were involved in a collision, one of the cars was travelling along Halliwell Road towards Bolton, when a second car attempted to turn right out of Draycott Street and the collision occurred.

The second car was propelled toward the junction of Worcester Street. The first car continued to drive and collided with a third and fourth vehicle, which were both parked and unattended.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 33-year-old man, is also in hospital receiving treatment for what is believed to be superficial injuries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident – or may have dashcam or doorbell footage – to please share it with GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).
