A former Police Constable would have been sacked had she not resigned after a drugs test found traces of cocaine

In a ruling published yesterday into breaches of the standards of professional behaviour as pertain to former
DC Georgia Curley, GMP Chief Constable Steven Watson ruled that assessing the seriousness of the misconduct found, it is a matter offact that Ms Curley, was, on 21St February2024, subjected to a drugs test having on that day provided a sample of urine.

On 28th February 2024 a positive result was identified ni that traces of Benzoylecgonine at levels
of 481 NG/ML were identified. Benzoylecgonine is the main metabolite
ot cocaine. The screening measurement prescribed is 300 NG/ML.

He added that in considering the appropriate disciplinary action to be imposed the appropriate disciplinary outcome in this case, had the officer not
resigned, would be dismissal without notice and the placing ot her details
onto the College of Policing’s Barred List.
