Deloitte has today announced a significant investment in its North West business, launching a dedicated technology centre in Manchester and committing to creating 100 new roles over the next three years.
The announcement reaffirms Deloitte’s commitment to digital skills and regional growth, supporting the UK’s wider ambition to be a global technology leader.
The move responds to increased client demand for business solutions and technology expertise in the UK.
Based in Deloitte’s Manchester office at 100 Embankment, the new technology centre, part of Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation business, will initially bring together 50 of the firm’s existing highly skilled technologists.
The team will design, build and run technology solutions that directly address the evolving needs of UK businesses. This will include designing apps, cloud engineering, and embedding AI into software, devices or systems such as SAP, helping clients to transform their businesses.
Also, at the heart of this expansion, is increasing access to digital skills. Not only will the new technology centre open up career development opportunities for Deloitte’s existing technology experts, but it will also provide opportunities for aspiring technologists to enter the field by creating 100 new jobs in the region.
All successful applicants will benefit from multi-year technical training programmes, specifically designed to progress new joiners through to world-class business solutions and technology delivery experts.
The North West forms one of four strategic growth locations and new technology centres will also be operational in Belfast, Cardiff, and Newcastle from 1st June 2025.
The centres will initially be made up of around 750 of the firm’s existing technology professionals, with an ambition to double in size over the next three years.
This investment forms part of Deloitte’s wider ambition of strengthening regional capabilities, building technological skills, and contributing to the North West’s growing reputation as a leading hub for technology innovation and talent.
Jo Ahmed MBE, practice senior partner for Deloitte in the North West, said:
“Bringing a dedicated technology centre to the North West is a major step forward for our regional practice, ensuring we can continue supporting the evolving the needs of our clients.
“With our region fast becoming a powerhouse for digital and technological talent, our investment will further support Greater Manchester’s ambition to be a leading digital and AI demonstrator region. I’m particularly excited about the opportunities these centres create for people wanting to start a new career in technology.
“I look forward to welcoming our 50 existing technologists to the new centre, and tripling the headcount with many more talented individuals as we grow this business over the next three years and create jobs for the future.”
