A plaque commemorating the night that a young David Bowie missed his train and had to sleep overnight at Stockport Train station had been unveiled
David Bowie had played a solo acoustic gig at the Poco A Poco club on Manchester Road, Heaton Chapel supported by Barclay James Harvest, High Tide and Purple Gang.
After his sell-out performance, David missed his train back to London and spent the night sleeping on Stockport station.
55 years to the day, The Stockport Music Story have collaborated with Avanti West Coast to install a commemorative plaque to mark this occasion at the side of the Stockport British Rail sign on Grand Central Square
