A 58 year old cyclist has died after being hit by a HGV at tthe roundabout at Ellesmere Circle in Trafford Park yesterday evening police have confirmed
A 77-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody for questioning.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to come forward.
Sergeant Phill Collingwood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This was a devastating incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life.
“The accident occurred in the middle of rush hour at a very busy roundabout in Trafford Park, not far from the Trafford Centre. As such, we believe that there will be a number of people who may have either witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage of the area at, or around, 5.10pm last night.
“We would also like to hear from any of the businesses in the area that may have CCTV footage covering the area.
